Our Intervention: Through our Emergency Relief program, Sarah received immediate financial assistance, food supplies, and housing support.
Outcome: With our help, Sarah secured a new job and stable housing. Today, she is self-sufficient and actively volunteers to support others in need.
Community Health Transformation
Background: A small community lacked access to basic healthcare services, resulting in high rates of preventable diseases.
Our Intervention: Raising Relief partnered with local healthcare providers to establish a community health center.
Outcome: The health center now serves over 1,000 residents, providing essential medical care, vaccinations, and health education. The overall health and well-being of the community have significantly improved.
Educational Empowerment for John
Background: John, a bright student, struggled to continue his education due to financial constraints.
Our Intervention: Through our Education Initiatives, John received a scholarship and school supplies.
Outcome: John excelled in his studies, graduated with honors, and is now pursuing a degree in engineering. He attributes his success to the support from Raising Relief.
Rebuilding After a Natural Disaster
Background: A devastating hurricane left many families homeless and without basic necessities.
Our Intervention: Our Rapid Response Teams provided immediate relief, including temporary shelter, food, and medical supplies.
Outcome: Families received the support needed to rebuild their lives. One year later, the community has largely recovered, with many homes rebuilt and residents returning to their daily lives.
Empowering Women Through EmpowHERment
Background: Many women in the community lacked the resources and support to achieve financial independence.
Our Intervention: Partnering with EmpowHERment, we facilitated workshops and mentorship programs focused on entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency.
Outcome: Numerous women have started their own businesses and gained the confidence to pursue their dreams. Their success stories inspire others in the community to take similar steps.
Latest Accomplishment
Late yesterday afternoon I delivered Christmas gifts donated by Raising Relief to the children living at the extended stay hotel in Palm Harbor. All 40+ of the children/teens who fill the entire hotel are what the staff referred to as “FEMA kids” who sadly were displaced by this summer’s hurricanes. Several of the teens and moms emptied my car of the gifts in a flash; they were so excited and appreciative!
It was a wonderful scene of pre-Christmas excitement and anticipation. Thanks to Devin and Marc for calling from Europe to give the green light to purchase whatever was needed to ensure these children had presents from Santa.
Denim & Diamonds 2023 Gala
The “Denim & Diamonds” gala is an event theme often used for fundraising events, particularly those benefiting charities. In 2023, several organizations hosted Denim & Diamonds galas, each with its own unique focus and fundraising goals. For example, The Christmas Box International hosted a Denim & Diamonds gala to support their mission of preventing child abuse and improving the lives of children in the child welfare system. GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County also held a Denim & Diamonds gala to raise awareness and support for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. Additionally, Challenge Aspen and the Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center held their own Denim & Diamonds galas with specific themes.
In general, Denim & Diamonds galas often feature:
Dress code: Guests are encouraged to wear denim paired with sparkling accessories or diamond accents.
Dinner and drinks: Catered meals and beverages are typically served.
Entertainment: Live music, auctions, and other forms of entertainment are common.
Fundraising: The events aim to raise money for the specific charity or cause.
Some specific examples of 2023 Denim & Diamonds Galas include:
The Christmas Box International: Held at The Westerner, the gala included a VIP reception, dinner, program, live auction, line dancing, and a concert.
GiGi’s Playhouse Orange County: This gala focused on inclusion and acceptance of individuals with Down syndrome.
Challenge Aspen: The gala was generously underwritten by Ellen-Jane and Ben Moss.
Percy and Donna Malone Child Safety Center: Their Denim & Diamonds gala had a “Wild West” theme.
Inspiration Ranch: This gala honored Halliburton Charitable Foundation for their commitment to the organization and its clients.
Dress for Success San Jose: This gala featured wine from Une Femme and Wente Vineyards and highlighted a client ambassador, Percelita.
